The Bobcat requirements focus on the fundamentals of Cub Scouting that every Cub Scout must know.

Regardless of what age or grade a Cub Scout is in, the Bobcat rank must be earned before earning any other rank, except Lion. Lion Scouts earn the Lion rank first. When they complete kindergarten, they may begin work on the Bobcat badge.

Cub Scouting is all about adventure! To earn their rank badge, Lion Cub Scouts complete five “adventures,” which are collections of themed, multidisciplinary activities.

They may also complete fun elective adventures!

To earn their Tiger rank badge, Cub Scouts complete seven "adventures," which are collections of themed, multidisciplinary activities. They also complete safety exercises.

Tiger rank requirements explore topics such as nature, games, teamwork, and healthy eating.
