Bobcat Adventure

The Bobcat Adventure introduces Cub Scouts to the fundamentals of Scouting and good character. It is designed to be one of the first Adventures Scouts complete each year, with age-appropriate activities for their rank.

Scouts learn about the Scout Oath and Scout Law, teamwork, leadership, and what it means to be a good Scout. As Scouts progress through the Cub Scout program, the Bobcat Adventure builds on these ideas and introduces greater responsibility and leadership.

Lion Scouts — Kindergarten

To earn their Lion rank, Cub Scouts complete six required Adventures and two elective Adventures, working alongside a parent or other caring adult. The activities are designed to introduce young Scouts to the fun of Scouting through hands-on experiences.

Lion requirements introduce Scouts to character and leadership, outdoor skills, personal fitness, citizenship, safety, and family and reverence. Scouts learn to work with others, explore the outdoors, stay active, practice safety, and begin building confidence and good habits.

Tiger Scouts — 1st Grade

To earn their Tiger rank, Cub Scouts complete six required Adventures and two elective Adventures. Activities are designed to be fun, hands-on, and age-appropriate.

Tiger requirements introduce Scouts to character and leadership, outdoor skills, personal fitness, citizenship, safety, and family and reverence. Scouts learn to work with others, explore the outdoors, make healthy choices, practice safety, and begin developing the skills and confidence to become a good Scout.

Wolf Scouts (2nd Grade) complete six required adventures and two electives. Requirements focus on outdoor skills, fitness, citizenship, safety, family and faith, and character development, using hands-on activities that build confidence, teamwork, responsibility, and practical skills. 

Bear Scouts — 3rd Grade

To earn their Bear rank, Cub Scouts complete six required Adventures and two elective Adventures. The activities become more challenging as Scouts build independence and practical skills.

Bear requirements focus on character and leadership, outdoor skills, personal fitness, citizenship, safety, and family and reverence. Scouts spend time outdoors, develop healthy habits, practice teamwork and service, learn important safety skills, and take on activities that encourage responsibility and confidence.

Webelos Scouts — 4th Grade

To earn their Webelos rank, Cub Scouts complete six required Adventures and two elective Adventures. The program gives Scouts more opportunities to take responsibility and apply the skills they have developed in earlier ranks.

Webelos requirements focus on leadership, outdoor skills, personal fitness, citizenship, safety, and family. Scouts build practical skills, participate in outdoor activities, learn about their community, strengthen their personal responsibility, and prepare for the greater independence of the Arrow of Light year.

Arrow of Light Scouts — 5th Grade

To earn their Arrow of Light rank, Cub Scouts complete six required Adventures and two elective Adventures. This is the final Cub Scout rank and is designed to prepare Scouts for the transition to Scouts BSA.

Requirements focus on character and leadership, outdoor skills, personal fitness, citizenship, safety, and family and reverence. Scouts develop greater independence, practice camping and outdoor skills, participate in service, strengthen leadership and teamwork, and learn about the patrol method and Scouts BSA.
